Dr. Vanessa Ocampo | Monaco Medical Director

Dr. Vanessa Ocampo is the medical director for Monaco Medical Aesthetics. She has over 15 years experience in medicine, specializing in rheumatology, anti-aging and wellness.

While receiving her clinical and aesthetic medicine training, Dr. Vanessa has worked closely with many of our medical partners here are Monaco, including Galderma Inc., Prollenium Technologies, and Merz Pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Vanessa has also worked closely with Dr. Neil Rouzier while completing her Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Therapy training in Salt Lake City, Utah and Toronto, Ontario. To better her practice she has attended many medical and aesthetic conferences worldwide, including the Aesthetic Medicine World Congress in Monaco, Monte Carlo. 

In addition to her professional designations, she holds professional memberships with the Canadian Rheumatology Association, Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Medical Protective Association, Ontario Medical Association, American College of Rheumatology and American College of Physicians.

Dr. Vanessa is heavily involved in the medical community working with undergraduate medical students as an OSCE examiner and preceptor for McMaster University. She is also very passionate about giving back and has worked in Uganda for two years in a row to help raise money for medical supplies in this underprivileged country.

Currently, Dr. Vanessa works with the Board of Admissions at McMaster University as an Admissions Interviewer for the undergraduate medical school program through the CASPER online system as well as interviewing potential candidates in person. 

Dr. Vanessa was born and raised in Colombia and can speak fluent Spanish. After completing her undergraduate degree in health sciences from the Universidad Libre de Cali, Colombia, she graduated with honours, and received the academic excellence award for career academic excellence in medicine and surgery. One of her most notable awards was  receiving  the Dr. Hui Lee award for Excellence in Clinical Care and Teaching during her time as a Senior Medical Resident at McMaster University in 2016. 

Dr. Vanessa has published several medical publications available to the public on autoimmune disorders, cardiology, and pleural effusion. Such publications include:

Dr. Vanessa has a passion of health, beauty and fitness. In fact, she worked closely with the Beachbody Canada team, as a health and fitness coach while completing her medical residency. 

In Dr. Vanessa’s spare time, she can be found working out as she is committed to living a healthy and active lifestyle. She is also a passionate animal activist and loves spending time with her pet Yorkies. Dr. Vanessa is also an avid traveller and when opportunity presents itself, she finds herself exploring foreign destinations as a getaway from her busy work schedule.
